Job Scope:

We are recruiting for our client a skilled and experienced Nominated Individual (NI) to act on behalf of the organisation in relation to CQC regulations, ensuring services remain compliant, safe, and consistently deliver the highest quality care. The Nominated Individual will provide strategic oversight of governance systems, safeguarding measures, and quality assurance processes, while working in close partnership with the Registered Manager.

As the primary point of contact with the CQC, the NI will ensure the service operates in full compliance with all relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice. They will support the Registered Manager in preparing for inspections, embedding recommendations, and maintaining robust policies, procedures, and risk assessments. The NI will oversee safeguarding arrangements, incident investigations, and complaints handling, ensuring lessons learned are embedded into practice.

With responsibility for performance monitoring, the Nominated Individual will champion a culture of openness, accountability, and continuous improvement. They will ensure staff are effectively trained, supported, and supervised while promoting safe, person-centred service delivery. Acting as an advocate for adults with complex needs, the NI will represent the service in discussions with commissioners, local authorities, and external partners, while driving forward high-quality care that is safe, effective, responsive, caring, and well-led.

Essential qualifications:

• Significant leadership experience within adults residential care, supported living, and/or domiciliary care services.
• Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding practices, and governance frameworks.
• NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or equivalent).
• Excellent analytical, governance, and reporting skills.
• Proven ability to support Registered Managers in achieving and maintaining high-quality care services.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel where required.
• A genuine passion for improving the quality of life for adults with complex needs.

Desirable qualifications:

• Experience as a Nominated Individual within a regulated service.
• Proven success in service development and improvement planning.
• Experience in liaising with commissioners and external agencies.
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills to support care leaders.
