Reporting to the Port Manager/Ship Chief Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and safety of vessels and their surroundings during overnight hours.Key Responsibilities:Conduct hourly patrols and monitor mooring ropes, gangways, safety nets, and securing ropesEnsure the security of vessels, restricting access to unauthorised individuals.Maintain a telephone watch for emergency call-outs from Fire, Police, or Ambulance servicesRespond to incidents by calling out the ship''s crew when necessaryAssist with vessel berthing and gangway operations, ensuring safe access is maintainedOversee the security of pier buildings and vesselsMaintain the mess room and adhere to all company work instructionsPerform additional duties as requested by the Port ManagerKey Requirements:Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solvingAbility to work independently and take initiativeFlexibility to accommodate shift and weekend workReliable transport for commuting between terminalsA team-player mindset in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentThis role requires diligence, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
