Night Shift Supervisor

We are working with an established and growing engineering manufacturer in the Sheffield area to recruit an experienced Night Shift Supervisor to lead a skilled fabrication team. This is a hands-on shopfloor leadership role within a busy manufacturing environment producing large, bespoke fabricated assemblies for industrial customers. The successful candidate will ideally come from a welding, fabrication or heavy engineering background and will be comfortable managing people, maintaining production standards and dealing with the day-to-day challenges of running a night shift. The Role You will take responsibility for the effective running of the fabrication team during the night shift, ensuring production remains safe, organised and on schedule. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and coordinating a team of Welders and Fabricators Allocating work and monitoring progress throughout the shift Ensuring components and assemblies are manufactured in line with technical drawings and specifications Maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality and safety Identifying production issues and resolving bottlenecks where possible Supporting and developing members of the shopfloor team Ensuring effective handovers between night and day shifts Communicating production progress, labour requirements and operational issues to management Maintaining good housekeeping and safe working practices across the fabrication area Supporting continuous improvement across production About ..... full job details .....
