NGED Approved Wireman / HV Electrician – Substations (UK Wide)

We are currently supporting a major infrastructure contractor on a long-term programme of works across the UK, with a focus on substation upgrades and overhead line replacement projects.

We are looking to engage an experienced NGED-approved Wireman / HV Electrician who is confident working on substations and able to operate unsupervised.

The Role:

• Installation, wiring and commissioning within HV substation environments
• Working on infrastructure linked to overhead line replacement projects
• Carrying out works in line with National Grid / NGED standards
• Operating as a competent, authorised person on site
• Working across multiple UK locations (lodging/travel required)

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Wireman / HV Electrician on substations
• NGED or National Grid authorisation (or demonstrable equivalent)
• Experience working at HV levels (e.g. 132kV, 275kV, 400kV)
• Ability to work unsupervised as a competent person
• Relevant certifications such as TP137 (desirable)
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and electrical standards
