JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Cyber Security / Network Security Engineer who has experience building, configuring and managing technical solutions, ideally security tools such as anti-malware, content filtering, SIEM and threat detection solutions.Working as the Cyber Security / Network Security Engineerwhich the organisation calls a Security Engineer, you''ll be at the frontline of cyber defence, working closely with the Security Operations Manager to monitor, maintain and enhance security tools and services. You''ll collaborate with external security providers, including 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC), responding to security alerts and ensuring threats are identified and addressed promptly.As the Cyber Security / Network Security Engineeryour expertise will help the organisation stay ahead of emerging security risks. From managing security controls to running vulnerability scans and analysing threats, your role will be integral in keeping their systems protected. You’ll also work alongside their IT teams, ensuring that security best practices are embedded across all projects and changes.As a successful candidate, you will have an exciting opportunity to work in a growing and fulfilling environment where your efforts will be greatly appreciated by the organisation and the thousands of people they help.DUTIESYour duties as the Cyber Security / Network Security Engineerinclude:Support the Operational Security Manager by executing security operating procedures consistently, reliably and accurately on a BAU basisWork with external suppliers including an outsourced 24/7 Security Operating Centre (SOC) to ensure quality and effectiveness of the services provided and respond quickly to security alerts raisedMaintain security tools to ensure they are configured and integrated according to best practiceEnsure that security patches and updates are testedProduce and maintain clear, accurate and up-to-date procedural documentationParticipate in playbook test exercises and respond to genuine security incidentsIdentify current and emerging security threatsAnalyse threat intelligence and escalate to the OSM as appropriateWork with other security and technology colleagues to ensure that security vulnerabilities are mitigated quicklyDeliver monthly vulnerability scans and support technology colleagues to schedule and track remediationAnalyse and interpret complex technical information to identify patterns and trends, root causes and causal linksWork in partnership with Change and Project teams to ensure secure delivery of changes and new deploymentsWORKING AT GUIDE DOGSWorking at Guide Dogs is much more than just a job.
