NCEA Land Access Database Technical Lead - 31738

Overview
This is a technical specialist role for the Land Access Database, part of the Environment Agency’s Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment (NCEA) Programme. The post provides oversight for all aspects of landowner access for monitoring networks, maintains landowner data, and ensures compliance with legal and EA requirements. The role works with operations and other teams to align delivery with programme goals and timelines.Responsibilities
Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best possible access arrangements for monitoring networks.Maintain landowner datasets and perform spatial analysis for NCEA networks with strong data management and GIS skills.Provide expert technical leadership through training, guidance, and optimisation of data management processes.Work independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot access and programme delivery challenges.Be adaptable and proactive in responding to evolving priorities.Experience and Skills
Experience with geospatial data, interacting with internal and external customers, and managing datasets.Ability to manage and govern a key dataset while complying with Environment Agency and legal requirements.Team and Location
The post will work with the EA’s NCEA Operations team, which implements 11 new monitoring networks. The team is collaborative and supportive, with opportunities to engage with the wider Environment Agency and beyond. The working location is flexible, with an EA office base; some travel and overnight stays will be required.Contract and Availability
Length of contract: Up to 2 years. This is a national role with flexible working patterns and potential for job-shares. Travel may be required.Application and Contacts
