Navigation Engineer (Algorithms)

Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Senior Navigation Engineer to join its highly capable Guidance, Control and Navigation team in Bristol. This permanent role offers the opportunity to contribute to advanced systems, combining hands-on technical engineering, research and strategic influence without line management responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:Developing and analysing sophisticated guidance, control and navigation algorithms throughout the systems full lifecycleContributing to the specification, design, implementation and verification of real-time guidance and control architecturesWorking with complex systems and equipment, including RF and infrared seekers, inertial sensors, actuators, propulsion systems and launch platform interfacesInfluencing the future direction of guidance and control design, testing and technical strategyDefining clear engineering requirements and objectives from complex technical challengesManaging system complexity by identifying the key technical drivers within interconnected engineering environmentsDiagnosing system abnormalities through physical investigation, computer modelling and simulation using MATLAB and SimulinkCollaborating across departments, directorates and national boundaries from early research and concept development through to full-scale development and guided flight trialsJob Requirements:Extensive experience in aerospace guidance, control and navigation specification, ..... full job details .....
