Responsibilities
As a Naval Architect, prepare Structural Integrity Strategies and oversee inspections to maintain the integrity of onshore and offshore oil production facilities and FPSOs; develop and issue detailed inspection work scopes for topside and subsea structures.
Ensure the integrity of the design, fabrication and installation of fixed offshore steel structures for Greenfield oil and gas development projects, and structure modification work for Brownfield projects; protect the integrity of jackets, piles, foundations, topsides, modules, bridges and other structures; set structural basis for design.
Data management: prepare and upload data to data storage systems; prepare well files tracing the full history from drilling to current status; perform basic evaluations including geological data compilation, formation tops, basic mapping or modelling, reservoir engineering and material balancing analysis.
Provide specialist engineering skills across design codes, regulatory requirements and current good practice; understand client needs, address design parameters and problems, and develop innovative solutions; independently evaluate, organise and prioritise work and deliverables.
Subsea pipelines: perform subsea system engineering, concept and feasibility studies, FEED and detail design; design rigid, steel catenary and flexible risers for large-diameter pipelines.
Availability to contribute to Metocean Studies or related offshore teams to provide advisory support on metocean data and engineering considerations.
Approval engineer role (Katy, Texas): analyze and approve structural systems for offshore drilling and production installations, using finite element analysis, dynamic/vibration analysis, wave-structure interaction and fatigue; requires a minimum degree and U.S. work authorization for permanent employment.
Qualifications
Fluent spoken and written English; excellent presentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Experience with oil tankers, gas carriers and floating production or storage vessels.
Knowledge of marine engineering (basic propulsion systems, cargo transfer systems and outfit equipment); marine project engineering (design); ship structures and structural analysis.
Understanding of Rules, Regulations and Standards covering design, operation, inspection and maintenance of the above ship types and offshore structures.
Project management; construction supervision and site management.
For Approval Engineer roles: minimum MS degree in Civil, Structural or Offshore Engineering, or Naval Architecture; Authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
