Naval Architect

Techniche Global are supporting a leading defence engineering organisation with the appointment of a Naval Architect to join their waterfront engineering team at Devonport Dockyard.

• Salary up to £51,000 depending on experience
• 35-hour working week
• Flexibility for a 4-day week or 9-day fortnight
• Relocation support available for the right candidate

This is a site-based role supporting the berthing, survey, refit, and through-life management of floating assets used by Royal Navy surface ships and submarines. You’ll combine practical asset oversight with technical engineering input, helping maintain existing facilities while shaping future waterfront infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing through-life support of floating assets
• Conducting surveys and specifying repair/refit packages
• Reviewing compliance and survey requirements
• Preparing design estimates and technical documentation
• Supporting future dockyard infrastructure development

About You

• Experience in ports, harbour facilities, or maritime engineering
• Knowledge of vessel construction, surveys, and repair standards
• AutoCAD or similar design software experience
• Degree in Naval Architecture or relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
