National Grid Gateman

VGC require a National Grid Gateman.

VGC are currently recruiting NSI 6–8 National Grid Gatemen for work on a project in North West London.

Requirements:

• National Grid Persons qualification for substations
• Valid CSCS Card
• NSI 6-8 qualification
• Previous experience working on National Grid sites. 

Duties:

• Control entry and exit at the National Grid site.
• Check and record workers, visitors, vehicles and deliveries.
• Escort vehicles and contractors safely around the substation.
• Act as a Banksman, guiding reversing, maneuvering and plant movements.
• Follow National Grid safety procedures around high-voltage equipment, overhead lines, cranes, lorries and lifting operations.
• Report unsafe acts, incidents or unauthorised access to the Site Supervisor or Authorised Person.
• Maintain safe control of site access and vehicle movements.

Rates are negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
