The Role of a Music Teacher:
- Establish and maintain a safe working environment which supports learning and in which children feel secure and confident
- Set high expectations for childrenandrsquo;s behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focussed teaching and positive and productive relationships
- Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge
- Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching
- Mark and monitor childrenandrsquo;s work regularly and set targets for progress
- Fulfil the requirements of the schoolandrsquo;s Assessment Policy
Requirements for this Music Teacher Vacancy:
- Hold a teaching qualification andndash; PGCE/ QTS/ ECT/ Overseas Trained Teacher to UK equivalent
- Current Knowledge of the national curriculum
- A determination and the ability to improve attainment across all key stages taught
- Previous experience teaching music in secondary schools
- The requirement for this role is experience teaching music to KS3 and KS4 (KS5 is desirable)
