The Role of Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in maintaining plant equipment, infrastructure and site reliability through planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities across both Mechanical and EC&I disciplines.
This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served, Multiskilled Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement and sustainable technologies.
Key Responsibilities of the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer:
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation systems
- Fault find and diagnose issues across complex process plant equipment
- Support plant reliability, minimise downtime and maximise operational availability
- Carry out maintenance activities in line with SAP PM schedules
- Support commissioning, plant modifications and improvement projects
- Maintain compliance with HSE procedures, permits and isolation standards
- Work closely with production teams, engineering colleagues and contractors
- Update maintenance records and work orders within SAP CMMS systems
- Participate in the site on-call engineering rota
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND in their engineering discipline)
- Multi-skilled engineering experience across Mechanical and EC&I disciplines
- Experience within chemical, manufacturing or process industries
- Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, drives, instrumentation and control systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and control drawings
- Experience using SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems
- Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving and organisational skills
