Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Days Only) Contract Type: Permanent Annual Salary: £39,000 - £41,000 Working Pattern: Full Time Location: Gateshead Role PurposeJoin our client''s manufacturing team as a Maintenance Engineer, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all production machinery. You will play a vital role in reactive breakdown response and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a variety of mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment. Key Responsibilities Execute planned preventative maintenance on CNC routers, woodworking machinery, panel saws, and other production equipment.Diagnose faults quickly during breakdowns and implement effective, permanent repairs.Conduct routine inspections on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to maintain optimal performance.Maintain comprehensive records of repairs, installations, and PPM activities.Assist in the installation, upgrading, and commissioning of new machinery in production and assembly areas.Collaborate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance without disrupting workflow.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and company procedures.Manage spare parts and consumables inventory effectively.
