Multiskilled Engineer (Fabric)

Equans are looking for a Multiskilled Technician (Fabric) working on behalf of Tameside General Hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne. This is a permanent full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, with a competitive salary and benefits package.Based at Tameside Hospital but may be required to cover other sites when necessary. The Multiskilled Technician will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within Tameside Hospital, providing guidance to others on site with expertise in Building Fabric and Joinery maintenance. Ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery.The Technician will have advanced technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area.Working hours are 37.5 hours per week.Responsibilities
Ensure workload is planned, delivered to customer specification and agreed service requirement.Plan, prioritise and resource projects.Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintain up-to-date knowledge of HandS and environmental regulations, and help achieve HandS targets.Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems and monitor facility performance through PPM programme, identifying any additional works required.Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and see them through to conclusion.Install, commission and maintain all plant, equipment and assets maintained by EQUANS.Work closely with the Fire Strategy to ensure building elements (doors/walls/partitions and penetrations) remain compliant in line with good industry practice.Assist with close out of site inspections for decoration and building/fabric elements.Assist with Lifecycle and major project schemes for pricing and refurbishment.Purchase/source replacement materials to ensure stock levels remain sufficient.Support other Multi Skilled Technicians to enable all PPMs/Reactive works to be completed.Flexible working hours required.Administer and complete relevant paperwork.Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, develop effective working relationships with business partners, suppliers and subcontractors.Maintain a fair, consistent and courteous attitude in all dealings at all levels.Hold a full driving licence.Maintain a smart appearance and professional manner representative of EQUANS.Report all issues to the Team Leader/Technical Services Manager.Qualifications or Required Experience
Approved and formal apprenticeship served in Joinery or relevant practical experience within a similar industry would be an advantage.Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.Sound knowledge of Health and Safety.Ability to measure, work to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams.Experience of working within a PFI Healthcare environment.Experience with PPM and Reactive Works.Working closely with a Fire Strategy to ensure building elements (doors/walls/partitions and penetrations) remain compliant in line with good industry practice.What can we offer you?
