Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer

Pay Rate: £19.23 p/h

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

gap-personnel are currently recruiting for a temp to perm role of Multi-Skilled Engineer, for one of the manufacturers of frozen fruits in Ledbury.

The Production Engineer holds a critical role in the Company; the need for our equipment and machinery to be well maintained and in excellent working order at all times is vital to our production.  As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, the post holder will be able to work across both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines. 

The Production Engineer is required to support production requirements; some shift working and on-call support during weekends is necessary. 

Shift: Monday-Friday 05:30-14:00 / 14:00-22:30 weekly rotational

Hours: 40 hrs week

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete proactive planned mechanical maintenance checks/tasks to schedule to minimise equipment downtime and log activity on relevant systems
• Complete work requests within agreed timescales
• Promptly attend to breakdowns and support in getting equipment and machinery back to correct operating condition
• Root cause analysis and elimination of the cause
• Leading on continuous improvement projects to increase the reliability and efficiency of our processes
• Install new equipment
• Obtain quotes and order replacement and spare parts as required
• Assist production teams and modify equipment in order to enhance manufacturing efficiencies and health and safety improvements

Experience

• Proven experience of working in electrical and mechanical engineering
• Good understanding of working with production equipment and PLC’s
• Previous experience of working within an FMCG (particularly food or drink) environment would be an advantage

Qualifications

Successful applicants will need to hold a relevant Engineering Qualification such as:

• Time served apprenticeship
• City & Guilds in Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering
• NVQ Level 4
• ONC/HND
• BTEC

Pay Rate: £19.23 p/h
