Multi-Trade Operative

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative for our client in London and surrounding areas. 

Job Role:

As a Multi-Trade Operative, your role requires you to carry out building repairs, maintenance, renewals, and replacements across a variety of trade disciplines. The Multi-Trade Operative role involves working on both occupied and void housing properties, as well as other Council-owned premises, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard in line with current regulations and best trade practices.

Key Responsibilities of Multi-Trade Operative:

• Perform routine reactive repairs and maintenance tasks across multiple trades
• Undertake larger-scale programmed refurbishment works
• Carry out occupational therapy adaptations within residential properties
• Work efficiently in both occupied and void properties, always maintaining professionalism and safety
• Ensure all work complies with current building regulations and industry standards
• Diagnose faults and determine appropriate repair methods
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, productivity, and quality output
• Use materials and tools responsibly and safely
• Communicate effectively with tenants, colleagues, and supervisors
• Ensure all tasks are completed within agreed timescales

Working hours of Multi-Trade Operative: 35 hours per week

Requirements of Multi-Trade Operative:

• Strong practical experience in building maintenance and repair
• Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (desirable)

Proven professional competence in one or more of the following areas:

• Plumbing Carpentry
• Plastering Electrical work
• Tiling
• Painting and decorating
• Gas Safe registered work
