Job Title: Multi-Skills Lecturer - Prison Education
Location: HMP (Kent)
Salary: Up to -37,400 per annum (Subject to experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

MK College Group has an exciting opportunity for an inspiring Multi-Skills Lecturer to join the prison-based Education Team at HMP Maidstone. In this rewarding workshop-based role, you will deliver hands-on, practical training across key construction trades-including Painting & Decorating, Tiling, and Plastering-guiding learners to build confidence, acquire qualifications, and prepare for successful careers upon release.
What You Will Be Doing
Practical Trade Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality multi-skills construction modules covering Painting & Decorating, Tiling, and Plastering within a safe workshop environment.
Student Progression & Qualifications: Guide learners through course units, supporting them to achieve formal trade qualifications and develop practical, job-ready skills.
Safety & Tool Control: Maintain strict health & safety standards, workshop discipline, and tool control protocols in compliance with prison security policies.
Rehabilitation & Skill Building: Help adult learners develop strong workplace habits, resilience, and confidence to support their long-term resettlement and employment pathways.
Collaborative Teaching: Partner with the wider MK College Group education team to deliver a positive, high-impact learning experience designed to reduce reoffending.
What We Are Looking For
Trade Expertise: Substantial vocational experience across practical construction trades, specifically Painting & Decorating, Tiling, and Plastering.
Teaching & Training Experience: Experience delivering vocational training, lecturing, or trade instruction is preferred. A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) is highly desirable.
Classroom Management: Strong group facilitation, clear communication, and the ability to adapt practical teaching methods to engage adult learners with diverse background needs.
