A leading organisation in the facilities management and property maintenance sector is looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join its growing team in Lyneham Wiltshire. This permanent position offers the opportunity to carry out essential maintenance and repairs across a residential property portfolio, providing a vital service while developing your skills within a supportive and safety-focused environment.
The Role As the Multi Skilled Operative, you''ll:
- Carry out planned and reactive repairs across a range of trades including plumbing, plastering, minor building works, tiling, decorating, drainage, grounds maintenance and general property repairs.
- Deliver a high-quality ''Right First Time'' service, identifying the best repair solutions while working independently.
- Use your technical expertise to support colleagues and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Accurately record completed work, materials used and job updates using electronic and paper-based systems.
- Build positive relationships with residents, clients, suppliers and colleagues, delivering exceptional customer service at every opportunity.
- Participate in a 1 in 8 on-call rota, including Saturday mornings (8:00am–12:30pm), to provide out-of-hours emergency maintenance support.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety while working across multiple sites within the region.
- Proven experience in multi-trade property maintenance, ideally with plumbing as your core trade.
- Good all-round trade skills, including plastering, plumbing, decorating and general building maintenance.
- Experience working within domestic housing, social housing or facilities management environments.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A customer-focused attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and reliability to adapt to changing priorities and participate in the on-call rota.
- Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.
