£18.87 per hour + £1.89 shift allowance (after probation) + attendance bonus of £60 per month + production target bonus of £50 per monthLOCATION:

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician / Mechanical and Electrical Engineer withproven experience in an electrical and instrumentation role, a time-served, qualified electrician and excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.Working as the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician / Mechanical and Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation equipment in compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards and company procedures.As the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician / Mechanical and Electrical Engineer you will have strong experience across multiple sectors including manufacturing, industrial, energy or related industries.Responsibilities

Your duties as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician / Mechanical and Electrical Engineer will include:Installation and Maintenance: Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems, including motors, sensors, actuators, PLCs, and control panelsCarry out mechanical tasks as part of a multifunctional teamTroubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical and instrumentation faults on a variety of systemsMaximise OEE: Carry out TPM tasks to ensure maximum OEE is achievedTesting and Calibration: Perform routine testing, calibration, and validation of instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal performanceDocumentation: Accurately maintain records of all electrical and instrumentation work, including maintenance logs, calibration reports, work orders and spare part stores managementCompliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, including the Electricity at Work Regulations, IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671), and company policiesHealth and Safety: Follow strict health and safety guidelines, conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with safe work practicesContinuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance system reliability and efficiencyLiaison: Work closely with engineers, production teams, and external contractors to ensure timely resolution of issuesCandidate Requirements

NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentCity and Guilds 2391 (Inspection and Testing) or equivalent18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671)Instrumentation certification (desirable)COMPEX certification (desirable)Demonstratable experience in an electrical and instrumentation role, across multiple sectors including manufacturing, industrial, energy, or related industriesMust be a time served/qualified electrician with experienceExperience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and automation is advantageousMust have mechanical ability, with electrical experience desirableExperience working in hazardous environments (ATEX) (desirable)Familiarity with DCS (Distributed Control Systems) (desirable)Excellent communication skillsStrong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation technologiesExcellent problem-solving and diagnostic skillsAbility to work independently and within a teamStrong organisational skills and attention to detailProficiency with electrical drawings and schematicsHow to Apply
