Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
MULTISKILLED MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Permanent * Full Time * Cornwall
Salary: Up to -50,135 per annum
Overtime: Enhanced - 1.5
Hours: Average 42 hours per week
Location: Cornwall
SHIFT PATTERN
The maintenance department covers the site from 5am until midnight across 4 rotating shifts on a 4 on / 4 off pattern, cycling through one week of each on a 4-week rotation:
* 5am - 5pm
* 6am - 6pm
* 8am - 8pm
* 12pm - 12am
1 week in 4, you will be required to be on call to cover the site from 12am until 5am.
ROLE PURPOSE
due to success and huge growth within the business Zest are looking to speak with experienced engineers to effectively maintain factory equipment and site services across a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, automation (PLC programming), and utilities (steam, compressed air, water).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Be an active and supportive member of the engineering team
* Maintain all machinery to ensure maximum efficiency and full H&S compliance
* Complete both electrical and mechanical proactive and reactive maintenance
* Attend breakdowns and provide engineering support across the factory
* Action repairs and record all measures taken to identify and address recurrent faults
* Actively seek equipment upgrades and improvements to enhance machine safety and efficiency
* Assist outside contractors working on site
* Respond to alarms and emergency situations promptly
* Use the CMMS system to log all work and stores requests
* Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude with a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
* Proven multiskilled engineer - either discipline Mechanical or Electrical Bias
* Time-served apprenticeship; food industry background preferred but not essential
* Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (ONC/BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
* C&G 2382 BS 7671:2018 18th Edition IEE Regulations qualification
* Good knowledge of automation, PLC programming and SCADA systems - ideally Allen Bradley & Siemens
* Competent in electromechanical & pneumatic systems, electrical panels, industrial wiring, welding, machining, and steam boilers
* Proven track record in engineering and fault-finding within an FMCG environment (food industry preferred)
* Good understanding of HACCP principles
* Strong teamworking skills with a safety-first approach
