Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – The OpportunityWe’re recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering business specialising in the design, manufacture and maintenance of bespoke industrial machinery.
This is a hands-on role supporting specialist production equipment within the metal-forming industry, combining planned maintenance, reactive breakdown support and technical fault-finding.
A skills test will form part of the interview process to help determine the final salary, based on your experience and technical ability.
Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – ResponsibilitiesRespond to machinery breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
Carry out preventative maintenance and TPM activities.
Diagnose faults and identify root causes to prevent recurring issues.
Maintain mechanical and electrical systems across specialist machinery.
Fault-find on hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC and machine control systems.
Read and interpret engineering and electrical drawings.
Record maintenance work, repairs and equipment modifications.
Identify improvements to machinery reliability and performance.
Support machinery installations and basic site maintenance.
Manage your workload and update maintenance records using digital systems.
Follow health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
Extensive experience maintaining industrial machinery or production equipment.
Strong mechanical maintenance skills and electrical fault-finding ability.
Hands-on experience with industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Knowledge of PLCs and machine control systems.
Experience working with power presses.
Ability to read engineering and electrical drawings.
A methodical approach to troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a small team.
Comfortable using maintenance software and standard computer applications.
Full UK driving licence and current passport.
Relevant engineering apprenticeship, City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 qualification.
Knowledge of CLM PLC controls.
Power press safety knowledge or a relevant press regulations course.
Hydraulic and pneumatic qualifications.
Forklift experience (training available).
MEWP experience (training available).
