Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Department: Engineering Reports To: Maintenance Manager Job Purpose To provide engineering support through planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, installations, refurbishments and continuous improvement activities, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and minimal downtime. Working to high standards of Engineering, Quality, Health and Safety and Hygiene, you will support the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment while working closely with production and other departments. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs on manufacturing plant, process equipment, packaging machinery and site services. Install, modify, commission and improve mechanical and electrical equipment including conveyors, motors, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam systems, boilers and utilities. Complete preventative maintenance schedules, maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work complies with Health and Safety, Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Support continuous improvement projects, equipment upgrades and engineering initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, quality and safety. Work closely with production teams, contractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and minimise downtime. Complete statutory inspections, maintain engineering drawings where required, follow Permit to Work procedures and provide effective shift handovers.
