Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the Engineering Team to deliver a robust maintenance programme. This includes planned, predictive, and condition-based maintenance across all production areas. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with technical and safety standards, and provide support for engineering projects. Working 4 on 4 off, you will have good electrical knowledge as well as experience in maintaining plant equipment - salary circa -45000.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily planned and reactive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of production equipment.
  • Support cross-functional teams to meet operational KPIs and drive efficiency.
  • Deliver a fast, effective response to production breakdowns and technical issues.
  • Pursue personal development and contribute to the training of colleagues.
  • Oversee and coordinate external contractors during engineering works.
  • Foster strong working relationships with production teams to minimise downtime.
  • Manage engineering stores efficiently, minimising waste and controlling costs.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping in engineering areas.
  • Accurately log incidents, breakdowns, and downtime in engineering records.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to manage labour, materials, and spare parts effectively.
  • Ensure smooth shift handovers and clear communication of ongoing tasks.
  • Support the maintenance and monitoring of site services and utilities.
  • Maintain and organise technical documentation and manuals.
  • Identify and propose plant improvements during routine checks and maintenance.
  • Promote and uphold health and safety practices across the site.
  • Understand and comply with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Conduct pre-start safety checks on machinery and work areas.
  • Review and adhere to risk assessments and safe working procedures.
  • Ensure team members are trained and competent for their tasks.
  • Monitor and address unsafe behaviours, providing coaching and support.
  • Facilitate open communication on health and safety matters.
  • Complete safety inspections and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Close out assigned corrective actions within agreed timelines.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and site rules.
  • Support ethical, environmental, and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Contribute to a positive site culture focused on safety, sustainability, and integrity.


Person Specification:

  • Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualifications.
  • Strong electrical knowledge.
  • Proficient in the use of computer systems and maintenance software.
