The Role: Ability to interpret and work from detailed mechanical and engineering drawings, following set specifications Assemble new machinery accurately using engineering and general assembly drawings. Build and fit complex precision components, including the fitting of bearings, while working to close tolerances. Skilled in hand scraping mating surfaces to achieve accurate fit and alignment. Carry out drilling, tapping, and other sub-assembly tasks as required. Key Skills and Experience: Experience in building, fitting, and assembling machine tools or other types of complex machinery A solid background in precision mechanical assembly Have a broad understanding of machine tool construction, ensuring high-quality workmanship across all stages of the build process This position requires some overseas travel.
