Description
As the Multi Skilled Engineer you will be tasked with the following:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Troubleshoot and support automated machinery and process equipment.
- Fault-find on PLC-controlled systems and support modifications where required.
- Minimise downtime through effective problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site''s maintenance management system.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of plant and machinery.
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to achieve operational targets.
Profile
A successful Multi Skilled Engineer should have:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and PLC fault diagnosis.
- Knowledge of motors, drives, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible attitude towards shift work and operational requirements.
Desirable
- HNC/HND in Engineering.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLCs.
- Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or TPM experience.
- Understanding of CMMS systems.
