Multi skilled Engineer

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (minimum NVQ Level 3) to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a manufacturing site, with responsibility for electrical and mechanical fault finding, including PLC-controlled equipment. Description

As the Multi Skilled Engineer you will be tasked with the following:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Troubleshoot and support automated machinery and process equipment.
• Fault-find on PLC-controlled systems and support modifications where required.
• Minimise downtime through effective problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site''s maintenance management system.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of plant and machinery.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to achieve operational targets.

Profile

A successful Multi Skilled Engineer should have:

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and PLC fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible attitude towards shift work and operational requirements.

Desirable

• HNC/HND in Engineering.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or TPM experience.
• Understanding of CMMS systems.
