Multi-Skilled Engineer - Electrical

Having ramped up manufacturing activities at their brand-new Milton Keynes facility, I am looking for a highly motivated Engineering Technician (Electrical Bias) to help keep my clients advanced production lines running at their best. While the role will have a strong electrical focus covering fault finding, repair, and optimisation you''ll also provide support on the mechanical side to ensure all aspects of our equipment operate smoothly.

Description
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues to identify and repair faulty components, keeping traceability records around work performed.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures and apply quick and effective solutions.
- Implement preventive measures to avoid recurring problems and minimise future downtime, collaborating with automation partners where appropriate.
- Support during factory acceptance site acceptance tests with some travel to Europe potentially required, (SATs) and installation activities during site setup.
- Provide training and support to operators and other staff on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability for repairs and maintenance, identifying and ordering necessary replacements.
- Provide input and feedback on potential improvements to existing systems, Collaborating closely with the Automation Engineering function to optimise equipment and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and performance.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, identifying and addressing potential safety hazards
Monday to Friday 06:00-14.30 and 13:30-22:00 rotating
Profile
You will be a hands-on Maintenance Engineer, with an engineering background and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience, as well as:
- A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Maintenance or Electrical Engineering is essential, such as a BTEC in Electrical Engineering or City & Guilds certification.
- Proven experience of maintaining and optimising automated manufacturing equipment within a factory environment, from installation and commissioning, through to running and performance improvements.
- Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems, using initiative to solve breakdowns and optimise equipment.
- Experience using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) platform and preferably knowledge of maintenance requirements within regulated environments operating to recognised food safety or pharmaceutical standards (ie BRC)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across Production, Engineering and Operations teams.
