Salary: £15.46 to £23.21 per hour DOE
Location Solihull and Stratford Upon Avon
Full time: 37 hours per week
Purpose:
To deliver high-quality teaching, training, and assessment across a range of construction qualifications (Carpentry, Bricklaying, and Plumbing). The role involves supporting learners of all ages to develop industry-standard skills, knowledge, and behaviours, while embedding employability, sustainability, and inclusivity throughout the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching using a variety of methods and resources.
- Act as course tutor and contribute to curriculum development and coordination.
- Support student recruitment, induction, and enrichment activities.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments, and provide constructive feedback.
- Embed employability skills, employer engagement, and work experience opportunities.
- Develop and maintain industry and community links.
- Ensure quality standards, assessment, verification, and continuous improvement are maintained.
- Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding, Prevent, and the client''s "Ready, Respect, Safe" values.
- Actively embed sustainability and climate awareness within teaching and learning.
- Undertake administration, CPD, and mandatory training relevant to the role.
- Be flexible to teach across multiple campuses if required.
- A recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 (or willingness to work towards).
- Industry-recognised qualification in Carpentry (Level 2), Bricklaying (Level 2), or Plumbing (Level 3).
- Strong occupational experience within the construction sector.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve).
- Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills.
- Flexible, resilient, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Level 3 Assessor Award and/or Level 4 Verifier Award (or willingness to achieve).
- Degree-level or higher vocational qualification.
- Experience of teaching in Further Education and with 14-19-year-olds.
- Experience delivering BTEC or equivalent programmes.
- Experience of curriculum design and quality improvement.
- Awareness of sustainability and ability to embed it into vocational teaching.
