MOT Tester

Our client, based in Wallingford, is looking to recruit a highly skilled MOT Tester to join their well-established workshop. • Competitive starting salary between £30,000 and £45,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience
• Potential to earn a workshop performance bonus, paid monthly, approximately £5,000 per year

• Monday to Friday working hours from 8:00am to 5:30pm, with two 30-minute breaks

Duties of the MOT Tester:

• Conduct MOT tests on customers’ vehicles in accordance with Ministry standards
• Diagnose and carry out repairs and servicing as needed
• Support workshop operations with other vehicle maintenance tasks
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow
• Maintain high standards of vehicle safety and compliance
• Keep accurate records of work undertaken and inspections completed
• Uphold exceptional customer service standards during interactions with clients

Requirements needed of the MOT Tester:

• Valid and active Class 4 and 7 MOT testing licence
• UK driving licence with minimal points
• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification preferred
• Alternatively, extensive experience as a qualified vehicle mechanic with an active MOT licence
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently within a busy workshop environment
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
