Requirements for the role of Geotechnical Monitoring Technician:
- Experience within geotechnical, construction, surveying, or monitoring environments
- Understanding of geotechnical and structural monitoring equipment
- Ability to solve problems and work independently on site
- Experience working outdoors in challenging environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to complete detailed site reports
- Good IT skills and confidence using monitoring software and data systems
- Capable of physical work, lifting, carrying, and climbing
- Full UK driving licence
Duties and responsibilities:
- Installation and maintenance of geotechnical and structural monitoring equipment
- Carrying out monitoring surveys using total stations, inclinometers, piezometers, crack gauges, and vibration monitors
- Downloading, processing, and reviewing monitoring data
- Conducting routine inspections and fault finding on instrumentation systems
- Assisting with automated monitoring system installations
- Producing accurate field records and technical reports
- Liaising with engineers, site managers, and contractors on site activities
- Ensuring all monitoring activities are completed in accordance with health & safety standards
- Supporting project mobilisation and demobilisation activities
- Travelling to various project sites as required
