Client Summary:
Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.
Position Summary
This position will be stripping down Various Rolling Stock working on Mechanical components, occasionally supporting on Electrical components. You will be expected to complete Mechanical re-fits from written work instruction, on Rolling Stock. You will also be expected to remove and replace the interiors to give access electrical items. You''ll be expected to inspect all replaced components so you must be competent in this area. This is a Safety Critical position and is a requirement against the Service Agreement (SA).
This could also include the following:
* Undertake driving duties within depot confines in accordance with the depot operating procedures and instructions.
* Actively participate in the ongoing continuous improvement activities for maintenance processes and maintenance procedures that support all depot and fleet activities.
* Support the delivery of new trains and undertake the maintenance acceptance processes.
* Ensure HM and modification tasks are being completed in a timely manner, undertake basic fault rectification or repair when required.
* Adherence to all health and safety processes and procedures.
* Attendance at testing locations, main line station and outstations to undertake preventative and corrective maintenance as required.
* Must be prepared to travel and overnight away from base location for short periods of time.
* Support the HM and Mods Team Leaders and Managers in the delivery of the Hm and mods plan.
* Record all work activities and stock consumption using the maintenance management system in accordance with maintenance processes and procedures.
* Assist as required with any other responsibilities relevant to the role based on localised requirements
Person Profile/Experience:
* Can comfortably work within a team or on their own
* Sound knowledge of, and compliance to, rules and regulations (internal and external)
* Able to always represent Hitachi in a professional manner.
* Calm and diplomatic under pressure.
* Ability to investigate complex electrical and mechanical faults and write detailed reports.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Able to interface effectively with all levels of personnel both within and outside the company.
* Loyal, committed, confident and determined.
Desirable Experience:
* Intermediate IT skills - typically Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
* Reading electrical, pneumatic, mechanical schematics and drawings reading
* Powered plant and tools - bogie drop, cranes, air systems / 110v tools.
* Depot Protection
* Working at Height, COSHH, Manual handling, AC/DC Depot isolation
Education level:
* Served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines.
* Engineering based NVQ level 3.
