Are you a passionate Modern Foreign Language Teacher looking to inspire young learners?

If so, GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic MFL Teacher to join schools in Hull. This role is ideal for someone who can motivate pupils to develop language skills while fostering cultural awareness and confidence.

About the Role:

As a Modern Foreign Language (MFL) Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons in one or more modern languages, including French, German, Spanish, or other taught languages. You will encourage pupils to develop fluency, comprehension, and communication skills, while promoting a love of languages. Collaboration with colleagues and engagement with the wider school community will be key to ensuring pupils achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities of an MFL Teacher:

• Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in line with the MFL curriculum.
• Encourage pupils to develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in foreign languages.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare and maintain teaching resources and materials.
• Promote cultural awareness through language learning activities.
• Encourage pupil participation in language clubs, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support learning outcomes.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and motivation within the classroom.
• Keep up to date with curriculum developments and professional development opportunities.

Skills & Requirements for a Modern Foreign Language (MFL) Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching modern foreign languages in a UK school setting.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in French, German, Spanish, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for modern foreign languages.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
