About the Role

Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts seeks a Mobile Plant Mechanic for a full-time post in Kilsyth, paying £19.19 hourly. Working Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30, the successful candidate joins a busy workshop, servicing, repairing and maintaining varied plant machinery. Core duties include routine inspections, scheduled servicing, diagnosing mechanical and technical faults, and completing on and off-hire PDI checks. Accurate record-keeping of all completed work is essential. Applicants should demonstrate strong diagnostic ability, mechanical expertise with heavy equipment, and a solid commitment to safety standards. The contract runs a minimum of twelve weeks, with extension possible for the right person.

About the RoleWe are looking for a motivated and experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic to join a busy workshop team. The role involves servicing, repairing and maintaining a variety of plant and equipment, resolving mechanical issues and ensuring high standards of safety and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out regular plant inspections and scheduled servicing.
Diagnose and resolve technical and mechanical issues.
Complete on and off-hire PDI inspections.
Maintain accurate records of work carried out.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
Work collaboratively with operational teams and management.
Provide guidance and support to apprentices and operators.
Respond to unforeseen mechanical issues when required.

Requirements

Level 2 VQ in Plant Maintenance and Repair.
Experience servicing and repairing plant and equipment.
A clean driving licence is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to safety and quality.
