Are you an experienced Forklift Engineer, Forklift Technician or Materials Handling Engineer looking for a home-based mobile role with door-to-door pay and no weekend working?

Alecto Recruitment is working with an established forklift maintenance and hire specialist looking to recruit a Mobile Forklift Engineer / Field Service Engineer to cover customers across Yorkshire and the Humber.

This is a permanent, field-based position offering a company vehicle, door-to-door pay and specialist training on modern lithium-powered forklifts and materials handling equipment.

Salary & Benefits

• -16.50 per hour, increasing to -17.50 per hour after 6-month probation
• Door-to-door pay - your working day starts and finishes from home
• Overtime available, dependent on experience
• Company vehicle provided
• Private use of company vehicle permitted within reason, subject to tax and private mileage charges
• Private Medical Cover
• Company pension following successful probation
• Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 4:30pm
• 30-minute lunch break
• No weekend working
• Specialist training on lithium-powered forklift trucks

The Role

Working as a Mobile Forklift Engineer, you''ll travel directly from home to customer sites, carrying out servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs on a range of forklift trucks and materials handling equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Service, maintenance and repair of forklift trucks and materials handling equipment
• Attending customer sites throughout Yorkshire and the Humber
• Mechanical and electrical fault finding
• Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs
• Working on electrically powered forklift trucks and associated equipment
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
• Completing accurate service reports using a PDA
• Managing your own daily workload and service schedule
• Providing a professional service to an established customer base
• Working independently while receiving support from the wider service team

What We''re Looking For

We''re keen to hear from experienced:

Forklift Engineers | Forklift Technicians | Fork Truck Engineers | FLT Engineers | Materials Handling Engineers | Field Service Engineers | Mobile Service Engineers

You will ideally have:

• Previous hands-on experience servicing and repairing forklift trucks
• Good mechanical fault-finding ability
• Strong electrical knowledge and diagnostic skills
• Experience working on electric forklifts or battery-powered equipment would be advantageous
• City & Guilds in Mechanics or an equivalent engineering qualification
• Ability to diagnose and repair faults independently
• Good organisation and time-management skills
• Professional and customer-focused approach
• Ability to manage a mobile workload under pressure
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy approach
• Full UK driving licence

Experience working with manufacturers such as Toyota, Linde, Jungheinrich, Crown, Hyster, Yale, Still, Mitsubishi, Doosan/Bobcat, Combilift, Clark or similar would be beneficial.
