Mobile Fitter

Job Title: Mobile Fitter (Rail Freight)

Purpose of Role To support the maintenance and repair of rail freight vehicles, carrying out mechanical and electrical work while developing engineering skills in a safety-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance at approved locations
• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on locomotives and rolling stock
• Test and assess equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
• Work in line with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and company procedures
• Complete accurate maintenance documentation
• Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and workmanship
• Work independently or as part of a team under supervision when required

• NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline
• Full UK Driving Licence
