Mobile Fire Fabric Technician

A leading Fire Solutions contractor is looking for a Mobile Fire Fabric Technician to join their growing team, covering commercial and public sector buildings across London and the South East.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced carpenter or fabric technician with knowledge of fire doors and passive fire protection. The role will involve a mixture of fire door installations, remedial works, fire stopping and general fabric maintenance, with some painting and decorating required.

As a Mobile Fire Fabric Technician, you will:

• Carry out fire door installations, upgrades and remedial works in accordance with current fire safety standards.
• Complete fire door inspections and identify defects requiring remedial action.
• Install and replace fire door ironmongery, including hinges, locks, closers, seals and signage.
• Pack and adjust hinges, align doors and frames, and ensure correct door operation and certification compliance.
• Carry out passive fire protection works, including fire stopping around service penetrations using approved products.
• Install timber hoarding and other temporary or permanent timber structures as required.
• Undertake a variety of carpentry works, including door replacements, frame repairs, skirting, architraves and general joinery.
• Complete painting and decorating following repairs to ensure a high-quality finish.
• Carry out general fabric maintenance across commercial properties.
• Cover sites throughout London and the surrounding areas.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Fabric Technician, Carpenter or Fire Door Installer.
• Experience installing, repairing and maintaining fire doors.
• Knowledge of passive fire protection and fire stopping techniques is highly desirable.
• Experience carrying out fire door inspections or remedial works would be advantageous.
• Strong carpentry and joinery skills.
• Experience with painting and decorating.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Happy to travel across London and the South East and undertake overtime where required.
• Live within a commutable distance of Dartford.

• -32,000 - -36,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
