Key Support Areas:
- Helping studentsandnbsp;understand instructionsandnbsp;and task requirements
- Supporting the development ofandnbsp;sequencing skillsandnbsp;(e.g., following a recipe or experiment)
- Assisting withandnbsp;personal organisationandnbsp;andandnbsp;memory retention
- Encouragingandnbsp;positive social interactionsandnbsp;andandnbsp;self-esteem
- Providing tailored support inandnbsp;literacy,andnbsp;numeracy, andandnbsp;conceptual understanding
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliveringandnbsp;targeted supportandnbsp;in reading, writing, and numeracy
- Creating aandnbsp;positive learning atmosphereandnbsp;for students
- Assisting withandnbsp;managing challenging behaviourandnbsp;alongside the class teacher
- Collaborating onandnbsp;lesson planningandnbsp;andandnbsp;activity delivery
- Monitoring andandnbsp;recording student progress
- Providingandnbsp;1:1 or small group tutoring
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience working withandnbsp;SEN studentsandnbsp;or a strong desire to do so
- Solid understanding ofandnbsp;Special Educational Needsandnbsp;and aandnbsp;passion for development
- Ability to manageandnbsp;challenging behaviourandnbsp;with empathy and consistency
- Commitment toandnbsp;fixed working daysandnbsp;(full or part-time)
- Holds aandnbsp;valid DBSandnbsp;on the update service or willing to obtain one
- Has relevantandnbsp;training or qualificationsandnbsp;to support learners with MLD
