About the Role
This temporary, full-time Mini Bus Driver For Schools role in Niddrie offers £14.51 hourly, working Monday to Friday across 36 hours weekly. The successful candidate holds a valid UK licence with D1 category and will safely transport passengers to schools, day centres, and community activities. Duties include assisting with boarding, carrying out daily vehicle inspections, keeping the bus clean, and reporting maintenance issues. A PVG check applies. - This role is subject to a PVG check – new applicants £59, update applications £18.

The Mini Bus Driver will:
- Safely transport passengers to and from school, day centres, and community activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity at all times.
- Provide assistance when boarding and leaving the vehicle, offering patient and respectful support tailored to each individual’s needs.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness, and promptly report any maintenance concerns.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with passengers, families, and staff, promoting a calm and friendly atmosphere.
- Follow all road safety regulations and organisational policies to the highest standard.
- Have previous experience supporting children or adults with additional needs or vulnerabilities (highly desirable).
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be compassionate, patient, and committed to safeguarding and wellbeing.
