Migration Architect -(VMware to Hyper-V)Bristol - Onsite 2/3 days a week ASAP Start 6 week contract Inside of IR35My client, a local authority, is looking for a Senior Migration Consultant to assist with the migration from VMware to Hyper-V. This will be to support a large-scale infrastructure migration programme currently in its final delivery phase.This assignment is expected to run for an initial six-week period, starting as soon as possible, supporting migration completion activities and post-migration stabilisation. While extensions are not currently anticipated, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of a complex production migration.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute and support migration of live production workloads from VMware-based environments to Microsoft Hyper-V.Work within an established migration plan and runbook, ensuring delivery aligns with the programme methodology and timelines.Plan and execute production cutovers, including validation, rollback planning, and post-migration support.Troubleshoot issues across compute, storage, and networking layers within a hybrid HCI environment.Collaborate with technical stakeholders to ensure migration milestones are achieved with minimal service disruption.Support post-migration optimisation and operational handover activities.Essential Skills andamp; ExperienceProven hands-on experience migrating live production virtual machines to Microsoft Hyper-V from VMware ..... full job details .....
