MIG Welder

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are recruiting:

We are looking for a MIG Welder for a permanent position based with our client in Sheffield.

Immediate start available (subject to interview and weld test)

Rate of pay is -15.00 to -19.00 per hour (depending on experience and skillset)

The Role

As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated components and structures to the required standards and specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

• MIG welding mild steel components
• Working from engineering and fabrication drawings
• Reading and interpreting welding symbols and measurements
• Preparing, fitting and welding fabricated components
• Ensuring welds meet the required quality standards
• Carrying out visual inspections of completed work
• Using a range of fabrication and workshop equipment
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Working efficiently to meet production deadlines

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a MIG Welding / Fabrication role
• Experience working with mild steel
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Good understanding of welding techniques and fabrication processes
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A reliable and hardworking approach

NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds in Fabrication and Welding would be expected.

Must hold current or previous welding coding in BS EN 287-1:2011 or BS EN ISO 9606-1
