Salary/ Hourly rate: Competitive Location: Wolverton, Milton Keynes Department: Corrosion Team Reports To: Team Leader Employment Type: Full Time - 50 hours per week Shifts: Day Shift- 06:00-16:00 Monday- Friday Night Shift- 18:00-04:00 Monday-Friday Summary: A Welder Fabricator is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components to create structures, machinery, and equipment. This role involves interpreting blueprints, using various welding techniques, and ensuring high-quality workmanship in accordance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Welding and Fabrication: The repair and maintenance of train coaches in the corrosion team. This includes fabricating and repairing structural components, including: underframe of the train carriage, Train bogie frames Train roof panels Train side panels Train mechanical parts such as suspension components, couplers, and brake system housings. Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. Performing welding operations using methods such as MIG (Essential) TIG, Stick, and Arc welding (desirable) Cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components to precise dimensions.
