MIG / MAG Welder Fabricator

We are recruiting for an experienced MIG / MAG Welder Fabricator to join an established engineering and fabrication company based in Oldham. The successful candidate will be responsible for high-quality welding and fabrication of steel components, with a particular focus on full-penetration butt welds using the MAG welding process. This position is ideally suited to a skilled welder with experience in heavy engineering, structural steelwork or general steel fabrication who can work independently and consistently produce high-standard welds. Key Responsibilities Carry out MIG and MAG welding on mild steel and carbon steel components. Perform full-penetration butt welds using the MAG welding process. Complete multi-run, fillet and butt welds to the required specifications. Fabricate and assemble steel components from engineering drawings. Prepare materials and joints for welding, including grinding, cutting and weld preparation. Maintain high standards of weld quality, accuracy and consistency. Inspect completed welds and identify potential defects. Operate workshop fabrication equipment safely and efficiently. Work independently and alongside other experienced fabricators and welders. Essential Requirements Proven experience in MIG / MAG welding. Ability to carry out full-penetration butt welds using MAG welding.
