Mid-Level Java Engineer
We''re looking for a Mid-Level Java Engineer for an initial day-rate contract. You''ll join an application development team in financial services and help deliver a major new retail investment programme designed to make long-term investing simpler and more accessible.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver Java components and microservices with Spring Boot, to spec and on schedule
• Work closely with developers, analysts and operations teams to build solutions for the programme
• Uphold the team''s Java standards and best practices, and promote them across the team
• Manage programme work through Azure DevOps within an agile delivery framework
• Help keep the codebase clean, with good source control practice
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in the team
• Recommend improvements to code quality, processes and delivery

Requirements

• 6+ years of commercial Java development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices
• Experience working with Azure DevOps or similar tools in an agile environment
• A degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Development or a related discipline
• Banking or financial services experience preferred
• Java certifications or a stockbroking qualification would be a bonus
• Excellent communication skills and a methodical, detail-focused approach
