Microbiology Laboratory Technician

Role: Microbiology Laboratory Technician Position: Full time Permanent Based: Chichester outskirts Salary: £25k to £30k OTE plus benefits Our client is seeking a precise, detail-oriented Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join their laboratory team. In this role, you will perform essential day-to-day microbiological testing, media preparation, and quality control activities to support ongoing operations. Key Responsibilities Testing and Accuracy: Conduct routine microbiology testing activities with the highest degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to turnaround times. Media and Reagent Prep: Accurately measure, prepare, and sterilize laboratory media, diluents, and reagents according to SOPs. Quality and Compliance: Check deionised water conductivity, measure post-sterilization pH levels, and report any out-of-specification (OOS) results immediately. Documentation: Ensure all lab sheets, logs, and technical records are legibly and correctly completed in ink. Lab Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, tidy workstation and assist with equipment operations, calibrations, and internal/external laboratory audits. What We Are Looking For Education and Experience (Preferred): A degree (or equivalent qualification) in microbiology or a relevant discipline. Alternatively, a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar testing laboratory environment.
