If you ve spent your time in sheet metal, engineering, manufacturing or a similar fabrication environment, that s absolutely fine.What matters is that you can look at a drawing, understand what needs making and get on with producing it properly.Your experienceMIG welding is the big one here. Ideally, you ll have around four years experience across MIG welding and fabrication, with aluminium experience particularly useful.You ll be confident measuring, cutting, folding and bending sheet metal, as well as welding, riveting and bolting finished components together.Being able to read technical drawings is important. If you ve used press brakes, guillotines, bandsaws and general fabrication tools along the way, even better.If you happen to have signage experience as well, brilliant, but it s definitely not essential.What you ll be doingYou ll be joining an established metal fabrication team, producing bespoke fabricated products from technical drawings.There s a proper mix of work rather than standing doing the same weld...
