Metal Finishing Technician - Treatments

Our client, a leading company in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Metal Finishing Technician - Treatments to join their team on a contract basis. This role is essential for ensuring the high standards of metal finishing required for aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Applying various metal treatment processes including alachrome, chromic, and sulphuric treatments.
• Ensuring all metal finishing processes meet aerospace industry standards and specifications.
• Conducting thorough inspections of metal components before and after treatment.
• Maintaining accurate records of all treatments and inspections carried out.
• Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and product quality.
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations and protocols.
• Assisting in the training of new team members on metal finishing processes.
• Operating and maintaining metal finishing equipment and tools in optimal condition.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in metal finishing within the aerospace industry.
• Proficiency in using alachrome, chromic, and sulphuric treatment processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively on a late shift after initial training on the core shift.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to document processes clearly.

Contract Details

• Based in Fareham
• Initial 6-month contract with likelihood of extension
• Start on core day hours, with possibility supporting lates once settled and trained within the treatments area

Hours:

• Core days: Monday-Thursday 7:30-16:15, Friday 7:30-11:30
• Lates: Mon- Thursday 2:00 pm - 11:45 pm

Rates PAYE only:

First 12 weeks

• Core days: -18.13ph accrual holiday OR with holiday pay -20.77ph (equivalent -24.09 UMB)
• Lates (20%): -21.76ph accrual holiday OR with holiday pay -24.92 (equivalent -28.91 UMB)

After 12 weeks

• Core days: -18.68ph accrual holiday OR with holiday pay -21.40 (equivalent -24.82 UMB)
• Lates (20%): -22.42ph accrual holiday OR with holiday pay -25.68 (equivalent -29.79 UMB)
