kolt recruitment are looking for a strip fitter to join a well-established independent accident repair centre based in Southend. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced strip fitter to join a busy and professional bodyshop with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality repairs. The successful candidate will play a key role within the workshop, ensuring vehicles are stripped and rebuilt efficiently and to manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Stripping damaged vehicles ready for panel and paint repairs
  • Refitting repaired or new panels and components to manufacturer standards
  • Removing and refitting trims, bumpers, lights and mechanical components
  • Identifying any additional damage during the strip process and reporting to the estimator or workshop controller
  • Ensuring all parts are stored and labelled correctly
  • Carrying out final rebuilds before vehicles move to quality control
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a strip fitter or MET technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle components and repair processes
  • Ability to strip and rebuild vehicles efficiently and safely
  • Good attention to detail and ability to identify additional damage
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a workshop team
  • ATA qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
