MEP Design Manager - Healthcare Sector

Location: Central London
Salary: 85,000 to 90,000 + Package

We''re working with a well-established and growing M&E contractor with a strong reputation for delivering technically complex building services projects across the UK.

With a growing healthcare portfolio and a strong forward order book, they are looking to appoint an experienced MEP Design Manager to join the team and play a key role across major healthcare schemes.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced MEP professional who enjoys working on complex projects and wants genuine involvement from pre-construction and design development through to delivery and handover.

You''ll be working closely with clients, consultants, design teams, subcontractors and the wider project team to ensure MEP designs are fully coordinated, compliant and deliverable.

The business has a strong track record across technically demanding environments, making this an ideal opportunity for someone with a healthcare background who wants to continue working on high-profile projects.

• Lead and manage MEP design activities from pre-construction through to project delivery.

• Coordinate mechanical and electrical design across the project.

• Manage design consultants, specialist subcontractors and supply chain partners.

• Review designs for technical compliance, buildability and coordination.

• Work closely with the project team to identify and resolve design issues.

• Attend design, coordination and client meetings.

• Support the development of design programmes and ensure key deliverables are achieved.

• Provide technical support to the construction team throughout delivery.

• Ensure designs meet relevant standards, regulations and project requirements.

• Assist with commissioning, testing and handover where required.

We''re keen to speak with MEP Design Managers who have experience working on healthcare projects, particularly:

• Hospitals

• Acute healthcare

• Medical facilities

• Mental health facilities

• Laboratories

• Pharmaceutical / highly regulated environments

You should have a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical building services, with the ability to manage complex designs and coordinate multiple stakeholders.

You''ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as an MEP Design Manager, Building Services Design Manager or similar.

• Strong healthcare project experience.

• Experience taking projects from pre-construction/design through to delivery.

• Excellent technical and coordination skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• A good understanding of construction, buildability and MEP coordination.
