About the Role:
We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and proactive Mentors to support young people with a range of additional needs including:
- SEN (Special Educational Needs)
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
- PEX (Permanent Exclusion)
- EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
- Other complex needs
As a Mentor, you will help young people:
- Build confidence and self-esteem
- Reengage with education and learning
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with trusted adults
- Navigate challenges and celebrate progress
About you:
- Experience working with children and young people (formal or informal)
- Understanding of SEN, SEMH, and trauma-informed approaches
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and resilience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team

Hours - Monday to Friday- Flexible dates and timings
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
Trauma-informed- desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
