Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant Specialist to work within a specialist SEMH provision supporting students with additional behavioural and emotional needs.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant Specialist, you will:

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs

• Assist in managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies

• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to promote engagement and emotional wellbeing

• Support students both inside and outside the classroom environment

• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies

• Encourage social, emotional, and academic development

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional learning needs

• A calm, patient, and resilient approach

• Strong behaviour management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

• Experience in alternative provisions, PRUs, youth work, care, or mental health support is highly desirable
