Mental Health Support Worker

Key Responsibilities and Duties Independent Living Support: Assisting with shopping, cooking, cleaning, and managing finances. Personal Care: Assisting with personal hygiene, including showering, bathing, and using the bathroom. Community Participation: Accompanying individuals to appointments, social events, and community activities. Emotional Support: Building trusting relationships, providing companionship, and fostering independence. Health and Medication: Prompting or assisting with medication management. Record Keeping: Updating care plans and daily notes accurately Required Skills and Qualifications Attributes: Patient, caring, flexible, and reliable. Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills. Experience: Previous care experience is often beneficial but not always required; many roles provide training (e.g., Care Certificate). Compliance: Successful completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Typical Working Environment Support workers work in residential care homes, supported living settings, or in the individual''s own home.
